Reduced prices in information and communication

The prices for computer consultancy services deceased by 0.5 per cent from the 1st quarter of 2010 to the 2nd quarter of 2010, while the prices for telecommunication fell by 0.6 per cent.

From the 2nd quarter of 2009 to the 2nd quarter of 2010 the prices of telecommunication services decreased by 1.5 per cent. Meanwhile, the prices of computer consultancy services deceased by 0.6 per cent.

New publication routine for price indices for services

From the first quarter of 2009, the price indices for services are published according to the new classification of activities (SIC2007). The earlier separate publications of price indices for telecommunication services and for data consultant services have been amalgamated in one publication since then. A new reference period for the price indices for services was introduced in the 1st quarter of 2009, and is now set to 2006=100, according to Eurostat’s regulations. The index for data consultant services has been adjusted in all the tables.
