Growth for most of the business activities
Car rental prices were the only prices with a reduction in the period from the 1st quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011. We find the highest price growth in employment activities and legal activities. From the 4th quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011, all the price indices within business activities rose.
The prices for employment activities in the 1st quarter of 2011 were 4.6 per cent higher than in the 1st quarter of 2010, while the prices for legal activities increased by 4.3 per cent in the same period. With 3.3 per cent for legal activities and 2.4 per cent for employment activities, both these industries had a significant increase in prices from the 4th quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011.
Normal price growth for cleaning and architectural activities
From the 1st quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011, the prices for cleaning activities rose by 3.1 per cent. In the period from the 4th quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011, the price changes were minor, as expected, with an increase of only 0.3 per cent.
The prices for architectural activities rose by 3.9 per cent from the 1st quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011.
Continuous growth for business consultancy activities
Compared with the corresponding quarter in 2010, the prices for consultancy business activities rose by 3.3 per cent in the 1st quarter of 2011. From the 4th quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011, the prices have increased by just 0.3 per cent.
Car rental prices continue to fall
Car rental prices have fallen for the fourth successive quarter. From the 1st quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011, the prices went down 4.2 per cent. From the 4th quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011, there was, however, a minor increase of 0.2 per cent in the prices.
Reasonable price growth for civil engineering and accounting and auditing activities
Both civil engineering and activities within accounting and auditing had an increase in prices of 3.1 per cent from the 1st quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011. With an increase of 4.4 per cent, the accounting prices were the major contributor to the growth in the industry of accounting and auditing activities. The auditing prices rose 1.7 per cent.
From the 4th quarter of 2010 to the 1st quarter of 2011 the prices for civil engineering went up by 2.4 per cent. In the same period, the growth for accounting and auditing activities was 1.4 per cent.

From the 1st quarter of 2012, the base period is set at 2010=100. This will only result in a change of the index level and will not affect any other data.
