Unchanged freight rates

Prices in the industry group «Freight transport by road» were 0.2 per cent higher in the 4th quarter of 2016 than the same quarter in the previous year. Compared to the 3rd quarter, prices fell 0.7 per cent.

The freight types other liquids or gases in bulk, frozen or refrigerated goods and other transportation pushed the index upwards. Prices for freight of petroleum products and mixed goods/container goods declined, while the price for freight of dry goods in bulk was stable.

Cheaper flight tickets

Prices in the industry group «Passenger air transport» decreased by 3.1 per cent from the 4th quarter of 2015 to the corresponding quarter in 2016. Compared with the 3rd quarter of 2016, prices rose 1.3 per cent.

Unchanged prices for cargo handling

The total index of «Loading and unloading» increased by 0.7 per cent compared to the 4th quarter of 2015. From the 3rd quarter of 2016, the index rose 0.1 per cent overall.

More expensive storage

Prices for storage services rose 2.6 per cent from the 4th quarter of 2015. Compared with the 3rd quarter of 2016, prices fell 1.2 per cent.

Price increase for mail and packages

The total index of «Postal and courier activities» increased by 3.1 per cent compared to the 4th quarter of 2015. From the 3rd quarter of 2016 to the 4th quarter of 2016, prices decreased 0.5 per cent.
