Domestic market increased
Norwegian camping sites had 177 000 overnight stays in October this year. This is 6 000 more than in October 1999. Business from abroad was about unchanged, while the domestic market increased 4.0 per cent.
Compared with October last year, some of the largest foreign markets decreased and some increased. Denmark and Great Britain had an increase, while Sweden and Germany had a decrease.
To date
Norwegian camping sites have recorded 6.94 million overnight stays so far this year, about the same number as last year. The foreign market was down, while the domestic market increased.
Increased capacity
In October 2000, 279 camping sites were open with altogether 4 793 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for October 1999 were 269 camping sites and 4 651 cabins/rooms.
