Domestic market increased
Norwegian camping sites had 121 000 overnight stays in November 2000. This is 6 000 more than in November 1999. Business from abroad was about unchanged, while the domestic market increased 6.0 per cent.
Compared with November 1999, some of the largest foreign markets decreased and some increased. Denmark and Great Britain had an increase, while Sweden and Germany had a decrease.
To date
Norwegian camping sites have recorded 7.06 million overnight stays so far in 2000, about the same number as in 1999. The foreign market was down, while the domestic market increased.
Increased capacity
In November 2000, 254 camping sites were open with 4 409 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for November 1999 were 244 camping sites and 4 211 cabins/rooms.
