Decrease in August
Norwegian camping sites had 1,37 million overnight stays in August 2001, 48 000 less than in August 2000. Both domestic traffic and business from abroad decreased.
Compared with August 2000, Great Britain has increased by 35 per cent, while the largest foreign market, Germany, went down by 7 per cent.
So far in 2001
the business from abroad has decreased while the number of guest-nights from Norway were about unchanged.
Decreased capacity
In August 2001, 851 camping sites were open with 12 447 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for August last year were 892 camping sites and 12 774 cabins/rooms.
