Increased foreign traffic
Norwegian camping sites had 79 000 foreign overnight stays in September 2001, 4 000 more than in September 2000. Domestic traffic decreased four per cent while the total business decreased two per cent.
Compared with September 2000, Great Britain has increased by 56 per cent, while Denmark decreased 30 per cent. The largest foreign market, Germany, were about unchanged.
So far in 2001
the business from abroad has decreased while the number of guest-nights from Norway were about unchanged.
Decreased capacity
In September 2001, 514 camping sites were open with 7 937 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for September last year were 518 camping sites and 7 897 cabins/rooms.
