Slight decrease in 2001

Norwegian camping sites had 7,15 million overnight stays in 2000 and 7,12 million in 2001. Domestic traffic decreased by 5 000 overnight stays while the business from abroad decreased by 25 000 overnight stays compared with 2000.

Compared with 2000, Netherlands has increased by 3 per cent, while Denmark and Germany decreased 8 per cent and 4 per cent. Both Great Britain and France increased.

December 2001

Norwegian camping sites had 113 000 overnight stays in December 2001. This is 21 000 more than in December 2000. Domestic traffic increased 28 per cent while the total business from abroad decreased less than 3 per cent.

Decreased capacity

In December 2001, 240 camping sites were open with 4 136 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for December 2000 were 244 camping sites and 4 120 cabins/rooms.
