Increase in overnight stays
Norwegian camping sites had 117 000 overnight stays in January 2002, 19 000 or 20 per cent more than in January 2001. Both business from abroad and the domestic traffic increased by around 20 per cent.
Compared with January 2001, Sweden and Netherlands increased, while Denmark and Germany decreased.
Decreased capacity
In January 2002, 231 camping sites were open with 3 981 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for January last year were 240 camping sites and 4 015 cabins/rooms.
