Domestic market increased by 72 per cent

Norwegian camping sites had 258 000 overnight stays in March 2002, 96 000 or 59 per cent more than in March 2001. Domestic traffic increased 72 per cent while the total business from abroad decreased 4 per cent. One possible reason for the increase is that Easter this year was in March and in April last year.

Compared with March 2001, Great Britain increased, while Sweden, Denmark and Germany decreased.

So far in 2002

So far this year business from abroad decreased while the domestic market increased.

Less camping sites

In March 2002, 265 camping sites were open with 4 606 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for March last year were 274 camping sites and 4 721 cabins/rooms.
