Figure 1. Taxi transport. Turnover and number of trips

The taxi industry carried out 8.5 million trips during the second quarter of 2013. This amounted to a total of 151 million kilometres covered, which is 6.6 per cent higher than the same quarter in 2012. Fifty-four per cent of the total distance was covered with passengers in the taxi.

Higher earnings per trip

Increased transport activity combined with higher taxi fares led to a greater increase in turnover vis-à-vis number of trips, which in turn led to higher earnings per trip, from NOK 259 in the second quarter of 2012 to NOK 267 in the second quarter of 2013.
