Lower activity – higher turnover

The number of kilometres driven with a passenger went down 0.5 per cent in the 1st quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The industry’s turnover was NOK 2.2 billion; an increase of 2.8 per cent compared to the 1st quarter of 2014.

The taxi industry carried out 8.0 million trips in the 1st quarter of 2015. This is 0.2 per cent more than in the same quarter last year but 4.8 per cent less than in the 1st quarter of 2013. Customers used 32.5 per cent of the offered hours; a decrease of 0.6 per cent compared to the same quarter in the previous year. In the reporting period, taxis drove a total of 138 million kilometres; 0.7 per cent less than in the 1st quarter of 2014.

Turnover per trip in the 1st quarter of 2015 went up to NOK 273 from NOK 266 in the 1st quarter of 2014; an increase of 2.6 per cent.
