Increase in April
Norwegian hotels recorded 1.06 million guest nights in April 2001, against 1.03 million in April last year. In terms of percentage, business increased three per cent. Compared with April 2000, the domestic market increased one per cent, and the foreign market increased ten per cent.
The major foreign market increased in April 2001, compared with April last year.
Higher capacity
Compared with April 2000, the capacity of the Norwegian hotel industry has increased in terms of beds and rooms.
Increased room prices
The average room rate in April 2001 was NOK 713, compared with NOK 704 in corresponding month 2000. The lodging revenue increased from 460 million NOK in April 2000 to 478 million NOK in April 2001.
