Less foreign guest nights
Norwegian hotels recorded 2.34 million guest nights in July 2002, against 2.41 million in July last year. In terms of percentage, business decreased three per cent. Compared with July 2001, the foreign market decreased four per cent, and the domestic market decreased two per cent.
All the largest foreign markets in July 2002 decreased, except for United Kingdom and Netherlands.
Lower occupancy rates
Compared with July 2001, the occupancy rates both for beds and rooms have decreased.
Increased room prices
The average room rate in July 2002 was NOK 631, compared with NOK 629 in July last year. The lodging revenue decreased from NOK 760 million in July 2001 to NOK 743 million in July 2002.
