217 504 passengers travelled on the northbound route in 2000. This is a decrease of 1.2 per cent from 1999. 203 704 passengers travelled on the southbound route, 4.2 per cent less than in 1999.

4th quarter

In the 4th quarter last year, 76 633 passengers travelled by Hurtigruta. This was 2.4 per cent more than in the 4th quarter 1999. There was an increase in number of passengers both on northbound and southbound route. 40 164 passengers travelled on the northbound route, an increase by 1.6 per cent from 1999. Correspondingly, 36 469 passengers travelled on the southbound route, which constitutes an increase by 3.4 per cent.
