The number of passengers by Hurtigruta in the first quarter this year was 70 745, an increase of 8 338 passengers or 13.4 per cent compared to first quarter last year. This is due to an increase of 14.9 per cent for travellers on the southgoing route.

In the first quarter this year 33 819 passengers travelled on southbound route by Hurtigruta. This corresponds to an increase of 4 383 passengers compared to last year. Northbound route carried 36 926 passengers, an increase of 3 955 passengers from last year. Passengers on northbound route constitutes 52.2 per cent of all passengers by Hurtigruta.
