Strong tail wind for Hurtigruta

168 000 passengers traveled by Hurtigruta in the 2nd quarter this year, an increase of 20 per cent compared with last year. During the first six months 2002, the traffic increased by 23.4 per cent compared with the correspsonding period last year.

The number of passengers on the northbound route increased by 16.4 per cent from the 2n d quarter last year to the 2n d quarter this year. In the same period the number of southbound passengers increased by 23.9 per cent. The passengers split equally between north- and southbound route by approximately 84 000 each direction.

260 005 passengers traveled by Hurtigruta in the first half year, an increase of 50 000 or 23 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year.
