Sharp decrease from abroad
Norwegian holiday dwellings had 18 000 overnight stays in January 2001. This is 4 000 less overnight stays than in January last year. Business from abroad decreased by 36 per cent, but the domestic market increased by 11 per cent.
Compared with January 2000, the largest foreign markets, Sweden, Denmark and Germany, all decreased compared with January 2000.
Increased capacity
In January 2001, 114 establishments were open with a total of 911 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for January 2000 were 99 establishments and 839 cabins/rooms.
