Foreign overnight stays up 86 per cent
Norwegian holiday dwellings had 26 000 overnight stays in January 2002, an increase of 8 000 or 45 per cent more compared with January last year. Business from abroad increased by 86 per cent while the domestic market increased by 7 per cent.
Compared with January 2001, the largest foreign market, Denmark increased by 127 per cent. Sweden and Germany increased by 42 and 31 per cent, respectively.
Increased capacity
In January 2002, 114 establishments were open with a total of 990 cabins/room. The corresponding figures for January 2001 were 114 establishments and 911 cabins/rooms.
