More overnight stays so far this year

There were 26 000 overnight stays in Norwegian holiday dwellings in April 2002. This represents a 22 per cent decrease in overnight stays compared with April 2001. So far in 2002, however, the number of stays has increased by 9 per cent.

The decrease in April is mainly caused by a 33 per cent decline among the domestic guests. The number of overnight stays by international guests was fairly stable, with a 3 per cent reduction.

Some of the decrease in April 2002 can be explained by the fact that the Easter holiday was in March this year, while it was in April the previous year.
