Less guest nights

The number of guest nights at Norwegian collective accommodation establishments decreased by 4 per cent, from 3.1 millions in June last year to 3.0 millions in June 2003. The domestic demand decreased by 3 per cent, while the foreign demand decreased by 6 per cent.

The number of guest nights at holiday dwellings increased by 1 per cent. One reason is that some of the larger holiday dwellings were earlier incorrectly categorised as hotels.

Less foreign guest nights

The foreign demand decreased by 6 per cent. Except for the Netherlands, all the larger foreign markets went down, Denmark by 18 per cent and Sweden by 12 compared with same month last year.

Fewer guest nights so far this year

After the first six months in 2003, there has been a decrease in the number of guest nights by 4 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Increase in Sweden

Swedish accommodation establishments recorded 2.5 millions guest night in June this year, an increase of 0.4 per cent compared with June last year. The largest foreign market in Sweden, Germany, increased.
