More Norwegian guest nights

The number of guest nights at Norwegian collective accommodation establishments decreased by 1.5 per cent, from 5.2 millions in July last year to 5.1 millions in July 2003. The domestic demand increased by 0.8 per cent, while the foreign demand decreased by 5 per cent.

Except for the Netherlands, all the larger foreign markets went down.

Increase for holiday dwellings and camping

The number of guest nights at camping and holiday dwellings increased. One reason for the increase for holiday dwellings is that some of the establishments were earlier incorrectly categorised as hotels.

Fewer guest nights so far this year

After the first seven months in 2003, there has been a decrease in the number of guest nights by 3 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year.

Decrease in Sweden

Swedish accommodation establishments recorded 3.9 millions guest night in July this year, a decrease compared with July last year. The largest foreign market in Sweden is Norway. As in Norway, the Dutch market increased the most, while Germany decreased.
