Increase in guest nights

There were 11 850 guest nights in the collective accommodation establishments on Svalbard in April. This is an increase of 13 per cent from the same period last year.

Norwegian guest nights increased by 26 per cent, while foreign guest nights fell by 24 per cent.

Revenue per available room was NOK 960 in April; an increase of 27 per cent from the same period last year.

Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR)

RevPAR is an important key figure and is defined as lodging revenue (exclusive of meals) divided by number of available rooms. RevPAR expresses potential profit and is an indication of the management’s ability to convert available rooms to income.
