Strong year for hotels
Norwegian hotels recorded good results in 2007. Total turnover in hotels and restaurants increased by 7 per cent compared with 2006. For businesses within transport, storage and communication turnover increased by 7 per cent.
Transport on both rails and roads increased in 2007. Transport via railways increased by 9 per cent, while other land transports increased by 10.7 per cent. Other land transports include freight transport and transports with passengers by bus or taxi.
2007 were also a good year for air transports. Turnover within scheduled air transport increased by 10.7 per cent.
Strong growth in hotels
Hotel and restaurants experienced an outstanding year in 2007. Hotels increased their by 11.6 per cent. Restaurants increased by 11.1 per cent. Both bars and canteens had a growth in turnover which exceeded 10 per cent.
Continued growth in fourth quarter
Land and pipeline transports went up by 4.2 per cent compared with the corresponding quarter in 2006. Supporting and auxiliary transport activities increased by 12 per cent. For businesses within post- and telecommunications turnover increased by 8.6 per cent.
Preliminary figuresFigures for the 4th quarter are based on data for October 2007. The sixth period is predicted using the growth from the 5th and 6th period the previous year. Figures are therefore vulnerable for change. |
