Good quarter for information and communication

Turnover in the industry section ‘information and communication’ increased 9 per cent in the first quarter this year compared with the same quarter of 2013.

The preliminary figures show that turnover in the industry division ‘computer programming and consultancy’ increased 16 per cent from the first quarter of 2013 to the first quarter of 2014. ‘Price indices for computer consultancy services’ in the first quarter of 2014 is at approximately the same level as the same quarter last year, which indicates that the growth in this division is due to a volume increase.

Air transport has best growth in transportation and storage

‘Water transport’, the largest industry division within the industry section ’transportation and storage‘, had a turnover growth of 8.9 per cent in the first quarter of 2014. The industry division with the highest growth this quarter is ‘air transport’, with an increase of 14.3 per cent.

Moderate growth in ‘accommodation and food and beverage service activities’

In the first quarter of 2014, the turnover growth in the industry section ‘accommodation and food and beverage service activities’ was 4.5 per cent. The industry divisions ‘accommodation’ and ‘food and beverage service activities’ had an increase of 3.7 and 5.1 per cent respectively.
