Continued growth for accommodation and food service activities
Preliminary figures show that turnover increased for “accommodations and food service activities” in the fourth quarter, as in earlier quarters of 2016.

The section “accommodation and food service activities” increased turnover by 4.8 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2015 to the fourth quarter of 2016. “Hotels and similar accommodation”, which dominates “accommodation”, increased turnover by 4.2 per cent. Turnover in “food and beverage service activities” increased by 4.7 per cent.
Growth for land transport
The division “land transport” increased turnover by 2.6 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared with the same quarter in 2015. “Freight transport by road”, which dominates the division, increased turnover by 3.1 per cent. The group “passenger rail transport” increased turnover by 5.3 per cent.
Up and down for air transport and water transport
The turnover increased by 4.1 per cent in the division “air transport”. “Passenger air transport”, which dominates the division, increased turnover by 4.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared with the same quarter in 2015. “Freight air transport” decreased its turnover by 5.7 per cent in the same period.
The division “water transport” decreased turnover by 23.3 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared with the fourth quarter of 2015. The group “sea and coastal passenger water transport” increased turnover by 18 per cent. “Sea and coastal freight water transport” decreased turnover by 26.4 per cent.
Slight increase for information and communication
The section “information and communication” increased turnover by 1.0 per cent in the fourth quarter.
