Salmon export prices still increasing

In the period from 28 December 2015 – 3 January 2016 the export price of fresh salmon came to NOK 55.06 per kilo. This is an increase of 3.4 per cent compared to the previous seven-day period and the highest measured export price for whole fresh salmon.

The export quantity of fresh salmon was 9 593 tonnes in the period 28 December – 3 January, down 8.6 per cent compared to the period 21 December – 27 December. Note that weeks including Christmas and New Year normally show low export volumes.

 

Norway exported 107 tonnes of frozen salmon at NOK 44.04 per kilo in the period 28 December – 3 January.
