Decrease in exports of petroleum products and machinery

The export value of traditional goods was NOK 16.4 billion in May, compared with 17.4 billion in May last year. This is a decrease of NOK 1.0 billion. This development was mainly due to a decrease in export value for other transport equipment and petroleum products, each of 400 million, and machinery and fish of 300 and 200 million respectively.

Increase in imports of cars, iron and steel

In May, Norway imported traditional goods worth NOK 24.5 billon compared with 22.7 billon in May 2003. This development was mainly due to an increase in imports of road vehicles and iron and steel, 300 and 180 million respectively.
