High exports in July

Norwegian exports came to NOK 47.1 billion in July. This is an increase of 27.6 per cent compared with July last year. July imports came to NOK 26.0 billion, an increase of 18.7 per cent compared with July last year. The trade surplus of NOK 21.1 billion is the highest since December 2001.

Imports of traditional commodities do not include ships and oil platforms. Exports of traditional commodities do not include crude oil, natural gas and condensates, ships and oil platforms.

Exports of commodities were slightly lower in July than in March, which is the best month since January 2001 in terms of export value. The high export value in July comes mainly as a result of the high crude oil prices. Exports of traditional commodities came to NOK 16.5 billion, up 6.6 per cent from July last year. The relatively high import value of traditional commodities, at NOK 26.0 billion, is still lower than the import values for June and March.
