2Due to the data collection method, the preliminary monthly figures published for ships and oil platforms are often incomplete. In retrospect, therefore, the trade in these goods could in some cases lead to major corrections in the figures. Please see tables 1-3 for the impact these figures have on the external trade.

Larger export volumes of crude oil

Exports of crude oil amounted to NOK 17.8 billion and increased by 28.1 percent compared to November last year. This was mainly due to larger export volumes. A total of 47.1 million barrels was exported, and rose by 24.2 percent against November last year. In the same period oil prices went up by 3.1 percent to NOK 377 per barrel.

Natural gas exports totalled NOK 15.9 billion - 16.7 per cent down from November last year. This was due to lower prices. Export volumes of natural gas in gaseous state was 10.2 billion standard cubic metres, and was at the same level as last year.

Other significant twelve-month changes

• Due to lower export volumes, export value of refined pertroleum products more than halved from last year ending at NOK 1.4 billion.

• Exports of industrial machineries amounted to NOK 3.1 billion and fell 26.6 percent from November last year.

• Fish exports ended at NOK 8.8 billion in November, up 22.8 percent from the same month last year. A high salmon price is the main cause of the increase.

• Imports of machinery and transport equipment totaled NOK 20.7 billion and fell by 10.1 percent against November last year.
