E-commerce up 9.9 per cent

Stores with e-commerce had a turnover of nearly NOK 3 billion during the first two months in 2017; an increase of 9.9 per cent from the same period in 2016.

In particular, online shopping with groceries, furniture and specialised assortments of merchandise contributed to the growth. The turnover in retail sales was almost NOK 69 billion during the first two months this year; an increase of 2.1 per cent1 from the year before. By comparison, the Index of retail sales showed an increase of 1.7 per cent during the same period.

Trade and repair of motor vehicles
Sales and repair of motor vehicles were nearly NOK 38 billion in the first two months of 2017; a growth of 7 per cent compared to the same period in 2016.
Wholesale of NOK 140 billion
The turnover in wholesale was NOK 140 billion in the first two months of this year. This is an increase of 1.4 per cent from the same period last year.
