Increase in retail sales

The seasonally-adjusted volume index of retail sales increased by 0.5 percent from December 2019 to January 2020. This follows a decrease of 2.1 percent from November to December.

The long-term trend in the retail sales now shows a peak in the middle of 2019, followed by a steady decrease.

Seasonally-adjusted figures show that retail sales volume decreased by 0.9 percent in November 2019 to January 2020, compared to August 2019 to October 2019.
