Large decrease within technical consultancy

The local kind-of-activity units within architectural services and technical consultancy had a decrease in turnover by 8.5 per cent compared to 2014, to a total of NOK 114.5 billion. This is the largest decrease since the time series started in 1999.

This was especially due to the decrease of activity in the offshore sector in 2015. In comparison, turnover increased in the years affected by the financial crisis, 2009 and 2010.

In total, the section professional, scientific and technical activities experienced a decrease in turnover by 3.1 per cent to a total of NOK 226.6 billion. A total of 136 857 persons were employed, an increase of 4.5 per cent compared to 2014. Compensation of employees increased to a total of NOK 87.7 billion, an increase of 3.6 per cent.
Large decrease within employment activities
Within employment activities, turnover decreased by 11.4 per cent to a total of NOK 31.5 billion. This is the largest decrease since the financial crisis, and this development was also influenced by the decrease in the activity within the offshore sector. Employment decreased by 6.5 per cent to a total of 50 108 persons.

4.8 per cent growth within real estate activities
The units operating within real estate activities had a growth in turnover of 4.8 per cent to a total of NOK 141.7 billion. In comparison, annual growth in 2013 and 2014 was 1.6 per cent and 2.3 per cent respectively
