Retail sales down in February

Volume index of retail sales decreased by 0.6 percent from January to February 2018, according to seasonally-adjusted figures. This follows a decrease of 0.3 percent from December 2017 to January 2018.

The long-term trend in retail sales has shown a relatively flat trend since the spring of 2017.

Working-day adjusted figures show that retail sales increased by 2.4 per cent in the period December 2017 - February 2018 compared to the same period in 2016 - 2017.
