Weak decline in retail sales

The seasonally-adjusted volume index of retail sales decreased by 0.2 percent from September to October 2017. This follows a decline of 0.8 percent from August to September this year.

The long-term trend in retail sales has shown an increase since autumn last year but has declined over the last few months.
