4 million litres more wine
The registered turnover of wine was 77 million litres in 2011; an increase of 4 million litres or 5.6 per cent from 2010. Meanwhile, the turnover of beer fell by 2.5 million litres, or 1.0 per cent.
The turnover of beer was more than 253 million litres in 2011. Registered turnover of spirits was almost 13 million litres; 264 000 litres more than 2010. This is equivalent to an increase of 2.1 per cent. The turnover of alcopops was 12 million litres; an increase of 3.2 per cent from 2010 to 2011.
Less spirits and beer last quarter
From the fourth quarter of 2010 to the fourth quarter of 2011, the turnover of spirits and beer decreased by 3.6 and 1.7 per cent respectively. In the same period, the turnover of alcopops and wine rose by 4.9 and 2.7 per cent respectively.
26.4 million litres of pure alcohol
Total registered turnover of pure alcohol was 26.4 million litres in 2011. This breaks down into 11.3 million litres of beer, 9.6 million litres of wine, 5 million litres of spirits and 0.5 million litres of alcopops.
In 2011, the turnover of pure alcohol was 6.62 litres per capita for 15 years of age and over. This is a decrease of 0.03 litres or 0.5 per cent compared to 2010.
The figures are calculated based on registered imports and figures reported to the Directorate of Customs and Excise (TAD) by businesses that pay tax on alcohol sales. The figures do not include Norwegian citizens' purchase of alcohol abroad. |
