More wine - less beer
The registered turnover of wine was almost 18 million litres in the third quarter this year; an increase of 403 000 litres or 2.3 per cent compared with the same period last year. Meanwhile, the turnover of beer fell by almost 1 million litres, or 1.5 per cent.
The turnover of beer was more than 67 million litres in the third quarter this year. Registered turnover of spirits was 3 million litres; 110 000 litres less than the third quarter in 2010. This is equivalent to a decrease of 3.7 per cent. The turnover of alcopops is at the same level as last year.
Less litres of pure alcohol
The total turnover of pure alcohol decreased by 35 000 litres in the third quarter of 2011 compared with the same period in 2010. This is equivalent to a decrease of 0.5 per cent. The total turnover of pure alcohol was distributed between 3 million litres of beer, 2.2 million litres of wine, 1.1 million litres of spirits and 154 000 litres of alcopops.
The figures are calculated based on registered imports and figures reported to the Directorate of Customs and Excise (TAD) by businesses that pay tax on alcohol sales. The figures do not include Norwegian citizens' purchase of alcohol abroad. |
