Growth in retail sales
The seasonally-adjusted volume index of retail sales showed an increase of 0.7 per cent from August to September 2013. This follows a small increase from July to August.

Most industries experienced an increase in sales volume from August to September this year. Stores selling food, beverages and tobacco in specialised stores, however, showed a decrease in this period.
Working-day adjusted figures show that retail sales rose by 1.1 per cent in the period July-September 2013 compared to the same three-month period in 2012.
