Decrease continues within administrative and support service activities

From the 3rd quarter of 2008 to the 3rd quarter of 2009 the establishments within administrative and support service activities experienced a decrease in turnover of 7.2 per cent.

Employment activities and travel agencies had the largest decline within this area by 17.6 and 11.6 per cent.

Less advertising

Within the section for professional, scientific and technical activities, the turnover decreased by 7.4 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2008 to the 3rd quarter of 2009. The establishments within advertising activities experienced a decrease by 12 per cent. However, the establishments within legal and accounting activities had an increase in turnover by 4.2 per cent in the same period.

The turnover within real estate activities increased by 8.3 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2008 to the 3rd quarter of 2009.

Important announcement: New industry classification

A new version of Norwegian industry classification (SIC2007) has been implemented from January 2009. The index of real estate, renting and business activities will be affected from the publishing of the figures for the 1st quarter of 2009. The present section will be divided into three new sections:

1) Real estate activities

2) Professional, scientific and technical activities and

3) Administrative and support service activities.

Furthermore, activities within other development and sale of real estate will be moved to the construction section. Veterinary activities will be included as a part of the new section, professional, scientific and technical activities.
