Business activities and support service activities, turnover index, Q3 2012, preliminary figures

Within architectural and engineering activities, turnover increased by 20.1 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2011 to the 3rd quarter of 2012. This area has had a positive development in the last year.

The establishments within management consultancy had a growth in turnover of 6.1 per cent compared to the same period last year. The growth trend has been decreasing through 2011 and the first half of 2012, but has stabilised from the 2nd to the 3rd quarter.

Turnover within advertising and market research increased by 0.6 per cent in the same period. This is the lowest growth for more than 5 years.

Administrative and support service activities

The establishments within administrative and support service activities experienced an increase in turnover by 11.2 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2011 to the 3rd quarter of 2012. The highest growth was found within rental and leasing activities, of 17.0 per cent, followed by travel agencies and tour operators, of 13.4 per cent. The establishments operating within services to buildings and landscape activities had the lowest growth, of 4.9 per cent.

Growth within real estate activities up 6.4 per cent

Turnover within real estate activities increased by 6.4 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2011 to the

3rd quarter of 2012.

Purpose and scope of the index

The purpose of the index is to describe the development in the value of turnover within the sections Real estate activities, Professional, scientific and technical activities and Administrative and support activities. Preliminary data from the structural business statistics ( http://www.ssb.no/english/subjects/10/14/stefu_en ) shows that the total turnover within these areas was NOK 476 billion in 2011.
