Weak growth within employment activities

Establishments within employment activities had an increase in turnover by 1.1 per cent from the 4th quarter of 2012 to the 4th quarter of 2013. This is the lowest growth rate since the 2nd quarter of 2010.

Turnover within travel agencies/tour operators and security and investigation activities increased by1.4 per cent and 1.6 per cent respectively in the same period.

Establishments within rental and leasing activities had the highest growth in turnover, within the area administrative and support service activities, by 15.3 per cent from the 4th quarter of 2012 to the 4th quarter of 2013.

In total, establishments within administrative and support service activities had an increase in turnover in this period of 7.2 per cent.

Professional, scientific and technical activities up 3.3 per cent

Establishments within professional, scientific and technical activities had an increase in turnover of 3.3 per cent from the 4th quarter of 2012 to the 4th quarter 2013. In comparison, the growth in the previous period was approximately the same, at 5.9 per cent.

Turnover within veterinary activities had the highest growth in this period, by 6.5 per cent. Establishments within architectural and technical consultancy activities experienced a growth in turnover in this period of 3.4 per cent. This is the weakest growth since the 3rd quarter of 2011. Establishments within scientific research and development experienced a decrease in turnover of 6.6 per cent.

Real estate activities up 5.5 per cent

Turnover within real estate activities increased by 5.5 per cent from the 4th quarter of 2012 to the 4th quarter of 2013.
