Decrease in turnover

Seasonally-adjusted turnover within professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as administrative and support service activities decreased by 1.8 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively from the 3rd quarter of 2016 to the 4th quarter of 2016.

Within professional, scientific and technical activities, legal and accounting activities experienced the largest decrease in turnover by 2.5 per cent. This is the first decrease in turnover since the 3rd quarter of 2012 within this division.

Compared to the same quarter of 2015, turnover decreased by 0.5 per cent within professional, scientific and technical activities.

Within administrative and support service activities, a 2.7 per cent decrease in turnover in the division tour operators and travel agencies contributed most to the decline. Within rental and leasing activities, turnover increased by 1.6 per cent from the 3rd quarter of 2016 to the 4th quarter of 2016.

Compared to the same quarter in 2015, the turnover within administrative and support service activities increased by 1.4 per cent.
