Decrease in turnover for renting activities
The turnover for enterprises in the renting activities industry was NOK 13.1 billion in 2003, down 7.2 per cent from NOK 14.1 billion in 2002. Despite the fall in turnover, employment and the number of enterprises were on level with 2002.
This industry group includes renting of machinery and equipment without operator and renting of personal and household goods.
Lower employment in the labour recruitment and provision of personnel industry
The 561 enterprises in this industry group employed 22 922 people in 2003 - down 14.2 per cent from 2002. These enterprises had a total turnover of NOK 7.2 billion.
Preliminary figures
The preliminary figures for structural statistics are published only on enterprise level. In general, the figures for enterprises will show other values than the figures for local kind-of-activity units. This is due to the fact that an enterprise registered with its main activity in one industry may have local kind-of-activity units in other industries.
Only figures for number of enterprises, employees and turnover on a 3-digit industrial level are published. The data have not been as thoroughly revised as they will be at the publishing of the final figures in June 2005.

The statistics is now published as Business statistics.
