Growth within advertising and market research

The total turnover for local kind-of-activity-units (LKAUs) within advertising and market research increased by 7.8 per cent to NOK 19.3 billion from 2009 to 2010. This followed a decline of 11.5 per cent from 2008 to 2009.

The 2 574 LKAUs employed 8 085 persons in 2010; an increase of 1.1 per cent compared to 2009.

From 2009 to 2010, the LKAUs within legal and accounting services experienced a 5.5 per cent growth in turnover to NOK 32.2 billion. A total of 30 881 persons were employed; a growth of 1.2 per cent compared to 2009. The total compensation of employees was NOK 14.4 billion, which is an increase of 5.2 per cent compared to 2009. There were 7 912 LKAUs within this area; approximately the same as in 2009.

Positive development within Travel agencies and tour operators

In 2010, the LKAUs within travel agencies, tour operators and other reservation service and related activities had a turnover of NOK 33.6 billion. This is an increase of 5.4 per cent compared to 2009. There were 1 895 LKAUs within this area and they employed 5 466 persons. The compensation of employees amounted to a total of NOK 2.1 billion.

Weak growth within real estate activities

The LKAUs within real estate activities had an increase in turnover from 2009 to 2010 of 0.6 per cent to NOK 113 billion. This followed an increase of 4.9 per cent from 2008 to 2009. The total gross investment was NOK 31.3 billion; approximately the same as in 2009.

Statistics at enterprise level

The structural business statistics for construction are compiled at a local KAU level and at enterprise level. The figures at enterprise level may differ from figures at local KAU level. This is due to some enterprises being registered in one industry group according to main activity, while at the same time consisting of local KAUs in other groups.
