NOK 8.3 billion for beauty treatment

In 2011, the local kind-of-activity units within other personal service activities had a total turnover of NOK 13.1 billion. This is an increase of 5.2 per cent compared to 2010.

Within hairdressing and other beauty treatment the total turnover was NOK 8.3 billion in 2011. This is an increase of 4.6 per cent compared to 2010. Employment went up to a total of 16 612 persons; an increase of 1.7 per cent.

Units within washing and dry-cleaning of textile and fur products had a total turnover of NOK 2.3 billion; an increase of 3 per cent compared to 2010. The 329 units employed 2 662 persons; a decrease of 1.8 per cent compared to 2010.

Unchanged within repairs

The units that operate within repair of computers and personal household goods had a turnover of NOK 2.2 billion; approximately the same as in 2010. A total of 2 511 persons were employed in 2011, which is a decrease of 1.4 per cent compared to 2010. The number of units decreased by 1 per cent, to a total of 1 275.

Total gross investments within other service activities amounted to a total of NOK 500 million in 2011.
