For the period 2008 to 2014, the annual percentage growth in turnover has varied for retail trade, wholesale trade and trade and repair of motor vehicles. While the retail trade has had fairly stable growth in the period, we see that the two other industries experienced relatively large variations in growth from year to year, as noted in Figure 1.
Altogether, the wholesale and retail trade consisted of just under 50 500 enterprises, which employed more than 370 200 people in 2014. Overall, these enterprises had a combined turnover of NOK 1 469 billion.
The statistics is now published as Business statistics.
Additional information
The statistics have figures for both local KAUs and enterprises, but preliminary figures are published only on enterprise level.
The figures for enterprises will deviate from the figures for local KAUs. The reason is that enterprises that are registered with principal activity in one industry may have local KAUs with activities in other industries.
