NOK 40 billion in clothing and footwear
Enterprises within the retail trade achieved a turnover of NOK 433 billion in 2012. Approximately 90 per cent of this was from the retail trade, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles. Sales of clothing and footwear amounted to over NOK 40 billion.

Retail trade services of food, beverages and tobacco amounted to nearly NOK 160 billion in 2012, which corresponds to 40.9 per cent of the total retail trade. This is a slight increase from 39.6 per cent in 2007, which was the last time a similar survey was conducted. Petrol stations sold food, beverages and tobacco for NOK 4 billion in 2012, but were not included in the 2007 survey. This corresponds to 2.5 per cent of total retail trade services of food, beverages and tobacco. However, they accounted for almost 11 per cent of total retail sales. If we exclude petrol stations, food, beverages and tobacco accounted for 44.7 per cent of retail sales in 2012; an increase from 2007 of 5.1 per cent.
Sales of automotive fuel amounted to nearly NOK 38 billion, of which petrol stations accounted for 97.3 per cent.
Sales of ICT equipment, consumer electronics and electrical household appliances amounted to NOK 19.6 billion, representing 5.7 per cent of total retail sales excluding petrol stations. This is a slight increase from 5.4 per cent in 2007.
Sales of clothing and footwear amounted to over NOK 40 billion, while cosmetics, toilet articles and pharmaceutical products amounted to nearly NOK 26 billion. Excluding petrol stations, this corresponds to 11.7 and 7.4 per cent of the total retail trade respectively.
