Wholesale and retail trade sales statistics, 2nd period 2007

In March and April this year the retail sales rose by 10.4 per cent compared with the same period last year. The monthly index of retail sales rose by 10.1 per cent the same period.

Wholesaling for NOK 236 billion

Wholesalers sold for NOK 236 billion the first four month this year, an increase of NOK 20.2 billion or 9.4 per cent compared with the same period last year.

In March and April this year, the growth was 10.4 per cent compared with March and April 2006.

Sale of motor vehicles rose by NOK 5.6 billion

Compared with the same period last year, sales of motor vehicles rose by NOK 5.6 billion or 17.7 per cent the first four month of 2007. In March and April, the growth was 13.2 per cent.

The figures do not include value added tax.
