Increase in sales of motor vehicles
Retail sales of motor vehicles increased by NOK 1.1 billion in September and October 2009 compared to the same period in 2008. This is equivalent to an increase of 10.0 per cent.
During the first ten months in 2009, the total sales of motor vehicles and repair of motor vehicles decreased by NOK 12.2 billion, or 8.9 per cent, compared with the same period in 2008.
Wholesale down NOK 12 billion
The turnover in wholesale declined by NOK 12 billion, or 8.3 per cent, in September and October 2009 compared with the same period the year before. During the first ten months last year, wholesale decreased by NOK 49.8 billion, or 7.6 per cent, compared to the same period in 2008.
Retail sales up NOK 1.7 billion
Retail sales excluding motor vehicles rose by NOK 1.7 billion, or 2.7 per cent, from September and October in 2008 to the same period in 2009. During the first ten months of 2009, the retail sales increased by NOK 2.1 billion or 0.7 per cent compared with the same period in 2008.
