Sales of motor vehicles up

Turnover within the trade and repair of motor vehicles decreased by 3.4 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2010. Compared to the first quarter last year, there was an 18.5 per cent increase. In the same period, growth for wholesale industries was 3.3 per cent.

The preliminary figures for NACE 45 and 46 are published as quarterly indices of value, and at two-digit sector level only.
